Congratulations Greg.+ After an exciting season our skier Greg Paturau won the tournament. The last race day was windy with strong clouds covering the sky. The sea appeared black beyond the reef and the waves look ominous. This didn’t distract all the skiers … The heroes they all are. The boats that pull them, engines screaming jump the waves at full speed, the gladiators on their skis, strong and determined pack closely together as the race begins. After 10 mins the faster boats pull ahead, some neck and neck, taking off into the air and the skiers, determined, cut the wake of the engines.

Grand Bay, Trou aux Biches, then Bain Boeuf,a full 3 laps.After the excitement, the cheers the skiers and friends all congratulate each other, joke and describe their experiences. Fantastic, awesome, a great competitive and daring sport. Peace Angels now looks forward to another adventurous season hoping to have more competitors in our team.

National Ski Racing is new in Mauritius, and started this year. It is a water ski competition organised by a young dynamic Water ski practitioners aiming at bringing this extreme sport discipline to National Level, and Beyond. It’s the first of a kind in Mauritius.

End of Caudan braderie – Interview with Gaetano

1) The Caudan braderie has finished, can we say that Peace Angel has had a major success this year again?

We made our customers happy with a wide variety of products at very affordable prices so for us that is a success.

2) What can be done next year to improve in any way the braderie in Caudan?

Perhaps on Sundays the braderie can go on all day long and till late on Saturday nights.

3) Having seen the way things are going actually (recession etc…), do you think that Mauritians have been saving up their money especially for these kinds of braderies?

Crisis? What crisis? I don’t think people save up for the braderies as products are so affordable.

4) In terms of competition, do you think that Peace Angel attracted more people than any other brand? Why?

I think all the brands attracted a lot of people and that’s the beauty of choice. The variety of products for people to choose from is wide but sure Peace Angel attracts a lot of people.

Water-ski League – Race 2 !!!

Second race of the League !! Windy and grey weather was the center of attraction this saturday.

This race was divided into two heats comprising of 6 boats in each. Greg was picked in the first heat, all to his advantage as the weather and conditions weren’t excellent. As the great “skieur” he is, he took advantage of that during all the race !

Getting out of the water in pole position due to his excellent pilot Jean-Claude Labat and to his co-pilot, he was then able to dictate the race, finishing the 1st lap in 9min 36sec.

Due to the bad weather, Greg’s opponents fell off and lost a lot of time during this first lap, some of them lost at least 10 mins.
Having a perfect race even with his bad knee, whcih was a concern during last month, Greg managed to finish the race in 1st position with a time of 19mins and 12sec.

This was the fastest time during the whole race and great finished the competion in the 1st position.
Great to see the Peace Angel Racing Team of the first step of the podium. Congrats to the team and happy to see them succeed !!

Keep it up and get ready for the next race which will be held on the 18th of July !!
